Taken in moderation caffeine has some great perks like increased concentration. But too much of this good thing can lead to some unpleasant side effects.
According to various experts, caffeine is not truly addictive. At least not in the way that traditional drugs and alcohol are. Caffeine is a compound that naturally derives from over 60 different plant sources, including:
- Coffee beans,
- Tea leaves,
- Cacao seeds and
- Cola nut seeds.
People who consume a lot of caffeine, however, can develop a tolerance, become dependent and experience symptoms of withdrawal if they stop their caffeine intake.
Too much caffeine can also cause sleep problems and unpleasant physical sensations like muscle tremors, headaches and more.
