A stroke happens when your brain isn’t getting the blood it needs. There are two main causes of stroke: a blocked artery (ischemic stroke) or leaking or bursting of a blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke).

Treatment is required right away to lower chances of permanent damage to the brain, disability, or even death.
