Mediclinic has moved to number eight (from tenth place) on South Africa’s most valuable brands.
Since 1983, Mediclinic Southern Africa has been bringing you expertise you can trust and continues to move from strength to strength. This year’s BrandFinance South Africa Top 50 brands confirms this – Mediclinic’s brand value has increased by 19% from about R8 billion to R9,6 billion, bumping them up to number eight in the top 10 ranking. This is ahead of Woolworths and Investec, and makes Mediclinic the only healthcare services provider in the top 10. To put that into perspective, a total of 450 brands were analysed across various industries, which means eighth place is no mean feat!
‘The Top 50 brands are a catalyst of South Africa’s growth and a winning nation and Africa,’ says Thebe Ikalafeng, chairman, Brand Finance Africa; founder, Brand Africa & Brand Leadership Group.
‘It’s about how a nation uses its enterprises to build sustainable growth and prosperity for its nation,’ noted Miller Matola, Brand South Africa’s CEO. ‘A lot of brands that we recognise are actually pioneers and they have influence. They have strong images and reputations, and for us that is the most important element of building a brand.
